Ana Lagos
Ana grew up in Honduras, where she was actively involved in a church affiliated with Great Commission Latin America. In 2019, she married Carlos Lagos and moved to Costa Rica — a transition that challenged her deeply. Adapting to a new country, far from her roots, wasn't easy. But through each step, God was faithful, using the discomfort to deepen her dependence on Him.
A pivotal moment in Ana’s life came in 2015 after the tragic loss of a cousin. That season of grief shifted her perspective entirely. She found herself at a crossroads and began to pray earnestly, asking God to use her life for His purposes.
Those prayers led her to a growing burden for children — especially those who face the harsh realities of poverty, violence, or neglect. Around the same time, she attended church conferences where she heard about ministries happening around the world. One country mentioned repeatedly was Costa Rica, and she began to pray for it without knowing that her own story would one day take her there.
Three years later, during a visit to Costa Rica, Ana met Carlos. What began as a recreational trip soon turned into something life-changing. She encountered the work being done through local ministry in the red-light district of San José, where Carlos was serving. Meeting women trapped in cycles of exploitation and witnessing the realities of street life moved Ana profoundly. Her heart was stirred with compassion, and her calling became clear.
Today, Ana serves alongside her husband in both children’s and university student ministry. She continues to adapt to Costa Rican culture, always leaning on God for strength and wisdom. Above all, she’s grateful for the privilege of serving God as a team — building a ministry rooted in love, prayer, and obedience.
