María Portilla serves faithfully at the Children’s Development Center (CDI), playing a vital role in the daily rhythm of care and support for the children who attend. From helping with schoolwork and preparing snacks to keeping classrooms clean and ensuring kids get to school on time, María is always ready to step in wherever she’s needed.

Her heart for service goes beyond logistics. She walks closely with the children — encouraging them not just academically, but personally and spiritually. She loves helping them learn about the love of God and has had the joy of seeing many place their faith in Christ.

María also helps organize meetings with the mothers of CDI students, building bridges of support for the families as a whole. Over time, she’s seen how these children have become examples of transformation — not only in their homes, but in their communities.
