Holistic: The Comprehensive Support That Will Transform Our Children's Futures

In the vibrant heart of San José, Costa Rica, the Holistic Development Center is dedicated to supporting 30 children after school, helping them with their homework and fostering their growth in a safe and enriching environment. However, for these children to fully develop, they need holistic support that addresses not only their academic needs but also their spiritual, physical, and mental well-being. Today, we want to show you why your support is crucial for these young people to reach their full potential.

Why Is Holistic Support Necessary?

A child's development is not limited to academic performance. For children to grow and develop properly, they must be nurtured across multiple dimensions:

Spiritual Support

At the Holistic Development Center, children learn values such as empathy, respect, and responsibility. We have devotions every day, where we emphasize Jesus’ love and sacrifice on the cross for each child. We want our kids to be empowered by the Holy Spirit to face life’s challenges with a strong trust in the Lord.

Physical Health

We provide a nutritious meal to ensure they have the energy needed to tackle their studies and daily activities.

Mental Well-being

At our center, children have access to psychological support and activities that promote emotional development. We create a space where they can express their feelings, manage stress, and develop skills to face difficult situations in a healthy way.

Stories of Transformation - Jeikol (9 years old)

When Jeikol began attending the Holistic Development Center he felt overwhelmed by a dysfunctional family (an absentee father) and academic and emotional pressures. Thanks to the combination of academic support, spiritual guidance, and activities that strengthen his physical and mental health, Jeikol has gained confidence and significantly improved in school. From being the worst-behaved kid he is one of the best-behaved and most obedient. 

How You Can Make a Difference

Here are some ways you can help:

Sponsor a Child.

Select one of our 30 children to sponsor with a monthly financial donation. By sponsoring a child, you will get to know that child and vis versa.

General donation.

Your donation can be either one time, monthly, quarterly or annually.

Volunteer.

Spend a week or more with us. Your time and skills can make a significant difference. Whether helping with homework, organizing workshops, or simply being a mentor, your involvement is invaluable.

Spread the word.

Help us raise awareness. Sharing our cause on your social media and among your contacts can attract more people interested in supporting our project.

Pray.

Pray that God strengthens us, guides us, and gives us wisdom to accomplish our mission.
